Mentoring here pairs a South Wilts student or recent leaver with someone who was here and is already doing the work they are considering. It is not abstract careers advice and nobody is promising a placement — it is an honest account of what a job is actually like, from someone with no reason to dress it up. Search below for a route you are curious about, or put your own name forward.
Every year a hundred and fifty South Wilts students decide what to do next, and the most useful thing any of them can hear is an honest account from someone who has done it. That is what this page is for - mentoring for recent leavers, careers advice from people who were sat in the same chairs, and the jobs and placements the community opens up.
We are short of engineers, tradespeople, people in the armed forces and anyone whose route did not go through university - because those are the students who hear from nobody. Tell us what you do and we will match you with one recent leaver.

Two minutes on the form below - your field, your leaving year, and what you would actually be useful on.

With one recent leaver, on field first and personality second. We brief you before you start and you can say no to a match.

Mostly email, with a call when it helps. Applications, interviews, first weeks in a job, or what the work is really like.

Most pairs stop after a year and about a third carry on by themselves. Either is a success.
