The Christmas Fair raised GBP 4,200, which is the most it has taken since 2016 and about GBP 900 more than last year. Something over four hundred people came through the hall across the afternoon.
Two things made the difference. The first was moving the refreshments out of the corridor and into the dining hall, which meant people sat down and then stayed. The second was taking card payments on every stall for the first time - the tombola alone took more than twice what it took the year before, which says something about how few people carry coins now.
Every penny goes back into the school. The fair is run entirely by parent volunteers and needs about thirty of them; next year's is on 5 December and the Friends page has the volunteer form.
