The head student team for 2026-27 has been announced: two head students and two deputies, appointed after interview by a panel that included last year's team. They take over at half term.
The job has changed. It is no longer mostly ceremonial - the team runs the student council, sits on the school's equality working group, and has a standing slot with the Head twice a term at which they are expected to arrive with something to say. Last year's team got the library opening hours extended and the lunch queue reorganised, which sounds trivial and was not.
Their first job this year is the centenary. They are on the committee for the Festival in July and are running the student side of the archive appeal - which, given how much of the last fifty years is missing, is real work rather than a title.
